Voting in a new title

In reference to my previous blog where I wrote about my plans for a new novel…

I am trying to brainstorm some working titles for the story. Something simple that captures the half-Arabic half-Western tone of the novel, and something a bit evocative that reflects the childlike, magic-realist mood.

Here is what I have come up with thus far, it would be great to hear what you think, what are your favourites, least favourites, why, why not, etc.

Songs of Ilium

This Side of the Garden

Sisters of Troy

To The Waters and the Wild

(“Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.”
WB Yeats)

The Overgrown Garden

The Childhood Spring

The Lioness’ Twin

Absolute Magnitude

The Constellation of Troy

A Thousand Heavens and One Purgatory

A History of Happiness Where It Never Happened

A History of Happiness by the Unhappy

A Thousand and One Fates

As If We Were Sand

Snakes in the Sand

Waking Up in the Sand

Shifting Sands

Shadows in the Sand

Garden of Ilium

Wayfarers in the Garden

Wayfaring Trojans

Whispering Sands

  1. I like ‘A Thousand and One Fates’ because it echoes The Arabian Nights stories …
